Crystal Lunenschloss
Crystal is a deeply passionate and dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and leader. She became a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) to help people reconnect and heal their relationship with food and their bodies. The process of nourishing and feeding the body is one of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves as humans. Food is meant to allow us to thrive physically, mentally and emotionally. Her client-focused approach is centered in safety in the body, in food and within different environments. Calming and rewiring the nervous system to view food and the body as safe are the first steps to healing.
She has been a Registered Dietitian for well over a decade, specializing in residential and outpatient eating disorder and addiction treatment, as well as collegiate and professional sports nutrition. She received her B.S. degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Middle Tennessee State University, her M.S. degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from Lipscomb University and completed her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN.
Crystal works with clients who struggle with eating disorders, substance and behavioral addictions, complex mental health disorders, exercise disorders, sports nutrition, and poor body image.
Speaker | Educator
Crystal is a dynamic presenter and speaker with over 100 engagements, including a notable presentation at the South Eastern Eating Disorder (SEED) annual conference. From 2014 to 2020, she served as an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University, where she taught Eating Disorder Treatment to graduate students in nutrition and therapy programs. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Nashville Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for 2019-2020.

Treatment Center Consultant | Director of Nutrition Services
When Crystal opened her private practice in 2017, her vision for Horizon was to create bench-mark, trauma-informed nutrition programming for addiction and mental health treatment centers. Crystal integrates her nutrition philosophies and treatment approach into the culture and client programming in all levels of care. In addition, Crystal’s team of experienced dietitians join her in the facilities to provide expert nutrition counseling, high quality nutrition groups and collaboration and training for the interdisciplinary treatment teams.
IAEDP-Approved Consultant (CEDS-C)
Crystal is an IAEDP-approved consultant through the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). She joins an elite group of professionals committed to excellence in the treatment of eating disorders who desire to mentor, educate and encourage other clinicians in this field who are seeking iaedp’s Certification. Clinicians seeking the IAEDP certification (CEDS) have the assurance and confidence that the highest standards of supervision will be provided throughout all levels of treatment when working with Crystal.
Service Work
Over the many years of Crystal’s career, giving back to the profession and to ED community has always been an important part of her purpose. Crystal volunteered for many years co-facilitating a free men’s body image through Renewed, she helped establish the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) Nashville Chapter and has served on the inaugural executive board. She saves hours for pro bono work to allow access to ED treatment for all, supports non-profit organizations, serves as a preceptor for future Dietitians interested in working in the field of eating disorder treatment and she has been a Nashville ambassador for the International Federation Eating Disorder Dietitians (IFEDD) for over 5 years.
Family
Crystal loves being a wife and mother of three young children. Her downtime is spent with her family and doing any and all child-focused activities they can find around town. She loves gardening, cooking, gardening, restoring their 1996 Ford Bronco, and gardening.
